My Secret To Not Looking Tired Is Really Pretty Easy
7 min read
Getting my dark circles under the eyes under control is a process for me. There have been many trials and errors. The hard part is no matter how much sleep I got, I will still have dark circles. When I'm really tired, well, I really have no luck. Show endless “you look tired” statements from strangers and some good friends.
I experimented with a lot of things, and some of them really worked! I finally found an under-eye serum that really makes that area brighter and more hydrated. I also talked to makeup artists about their best tips for using concealer in dark circles. The main takeaway? Uses a full-coverage concealer that is lightweight and has a warm tone to it. When it comes to application, create a "triangle" with a concealer between the inner corner of the eye, the tip of the nose, and the outer corner of the eye.
While both of those things did not permanently remove my circles under the eyes, they did a great job making them disguise and less noticeable. For times when I really need a quick fix, I reach for my under-eye patches. They can be a great choice for you when you are in a pinch and do not have the right concealer. Plus, some serums and creams under the eyes take a few days to really take effect.
Masks under the eyes have really passed over the past few years, and for good reason. They have many benefits – some have anti-aging properties some disappear under the eyes of circles, and others hydrate in very easy places. But the best part is that many of them work in 15 minutes or less. So you can enter them while you are getting dressed for the day or breakfast. I love using them before I have important Zoom meetings or presentations because I do not have the luxury of a ring light to give me an extra look. Plus, it’s just a nice, little moment of self-care.
